He is a famous blockchain expert with a strong presence on social media who reached fame by publishing Mastering Bitcoin, a guide that showcases and explains the intricacies of decentralized technology.
Antonopoulos was born in the United Kingdom but has spent his childhood in his homeland: Greece. However, he moved back to the U.K. at the age of 17 to study at University College London. There, Antonopoulos earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a master’s degree in Data Communications, Networks, and Distributed Systems.
A few years after University, the tech geek decided to move to the U.S., where he co-founded Nemertes Research. While operating, Nemertes Antonopoulos joined the Cypherpunk Movement, which eventually led him to discover cryptocurrencies.

He soon became obsessed with Bitcoin and embarked on a journey that would lead him to the blockchain industry.
A vast range of knowledge made it possible for the expert to reach a stage where he became a blockchain educator at the University of Nicosia in 2014. In the same year, he also advised the Canadian and Australian Senate on cryptocurrency laws. Not to forget, Antonopoulos magnum opus ‘Mastering Bitcoin: Programming the Open Blockchain’ was also published in 2014.
